Saxophonist Matthew Erman graduated from East Meadow High School. She is pursuing a career in music education with concentration in clarinet at the SUNY Fredonia Honors Program. She played in the All-County band for four years, and served as drum major for the Hicksville Marching Band.
A member of the National Honor Society, she has won many additional honors, including Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. 2018 - Cara NoetzelĬlarinetist Cara Noetzel graduated from Hicksville High School. James studies at the New England Conservatory of Music, majoring in drum set performance. He has also accompanied other music students on piano. At Plainedge, James has participated in jazz band as pianist, and marching band as drum major. He was the All-State Jazz Piano Student of the Year, and won the prestigious “We Make a Difference” award. James got perfect scores on NYSSMA’s All-State jazz evaluations for both drums AND piano. He is an accomplished jazz drummer and pianist. James Paul Nadien graduated from Plainedge High School. She will be studying music education at Marywood University in Scranton, PA in the fall. At Plainedge, Kristin sings in the Concert Choir and the A Cappella Jazz Choir, in addition to singing and non-singing roles at Plainedge and the non-profit Second Stage Theatre in Manhattan. She received A+ NYSSMA ratings for the last four years and has participated in the All-County Festival in Mixed and Women’s Choir for several years. Kristin Ventricelli, from Plainedge High School, sings soprano, plays piano, and acts. Danny will continue his studies at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Pottsdam in the fall. Last year, Danny played lead trombone in NYSSMA’s All-State Festival in Rochester where he was judged A+ in both jazz and classical departments. He most recently led the trombone section in the 2018-19 All-County Jazz Ensemble. He is a trombonist, vocalist, and violinist who has participated in All-County musical events since grade five. 2019 – Danny Neriĭanny Neri is from Lynbrook High School. In the fall, Jasmine will enter Ithaca College with a major in music education and perhaps a minor in performance. Jasmine has been performing for a local church and has spent many Saturdays with the Nassau-Suffolk Wind Symphony.
She also participated in Long Island University’s Band Festival and the Long Island String Festival. She performed at NYSSMA’s All-State Symphony Orchestra and attended the New York State Summer School for the Arts. Among other academic honors, Jasmine is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and has served as its president. She also sings in chorus and composes original music on the keyboard. She plays tuba in concert and marching band, and double bass in orchestra and pit orchestra, earning perfect scores on her NYSSMA evaluations. Jasmine Rodriguez graduated from Island Trees High School in Levittown. Michele will attend Temple University in the fall, majoring in music education. She is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society among other academic honors, and in addition serves as a volunteer in her community. She is a member of the Northwinds Symphonic Band, a community organization composed mainly of music teachers and music school graduates, and recently performed a solo with them. At Glen Cove, Michele conducts the wind ensemble. She won a merit scholarship to attend the USDAN arts summer school, where she performed along with faculty members at their annual gala event. Michele has performed at Nassau All-County and New York All-State, where she was first chair on sax. She has earned perfect scores on her New York State SMA (NYSSMA) evaluations three years in a row. She plays alto saxophone and has participated in concert band, marching band, jazz band, and select chorus. Michele D’Ambrosio graduated from Glen Cove High School. She plays cello and will be attending the Cleveland Institute of Music (OH) in the fall.
